about
Offer is the new project from Adult Jazz vocalist Harry Burgess and PC Music’s Lil Data (Jack Armitage).
Offer share their second single on Tuesday 23rd April, the eponymous Offer. The single will be followed on Tuesday 30th April by a remix from Klahrk (Ware Collective).
Offer shared their first single Day Away in November 2018, a twelve-minute oddity of theatrical auto-tune, dissonance and organ that The FADER described as “an instinctive obscuring of what’s artificial and what’s breathable”. Since the release of Day Away, Armitage and Burgess have been busy. PC Music released Lil Data’s four disc anthology Folder Dot Zip, while Burgess has been working on a new Adult Jazz record, and published a collection of essays and poems, Toffee Hammer.
Today they share Offer, showcasing a maximalist pop streak in contrast to Day Away.
lyrics
Stop myself from chipping
But he’s in my head
And in any rock:
The David block
See him all the while
Score the stone sling
No surprise
Locked onto his eyes
Makes me dig him out every time!
If fresh fish screams for the net
I know that
Something’s up!
I’m feeling
I’m spring loaded
To offer
Myself up!
Where is that coil living in me?
Pray for years of rust in an eyeblink
Not quite my girl of ivory
But i give something that i wanna keep
I don’t wanna offer it up to you
Don’t wanna offer to you
Yeah
